Port Hope, Wis.,Dec. 17th, '83.Dear Brother and Sister:Christmas is almost here, and I write a few lines, wishing it may prove a most happy one to you. May our kind heavenly Father bless you with all that is best, and for your true happiness, and may you see many glad new years, blest yourselfes, as well as blessing others. We are all pretty well here. We expect the girls home next Friday, Anna for about four days, and Celia, I think, has about two weeks' vacation. I am trying to get mother to come out for a few days at the same time, but do not know whether I will succeed or not. She has not decided what she will do yet. She is well. I was in town and saw her a few days ago. I have received a book of notes and observations taken on the Steamer Corwin, and I know I have you to thank for that, and I send you many thanks. It will be very interesting to us. Tell Wanda I received her card, and it did me good to see it. I know just how she looked while writing it. This one enclosed is for her. Tell her to write again. Also do not forget yourselves. With much love and best wishes,I am,Yours affectionately,SarahP.S. Remember Gracie to Wanda, She is attending school. Did you receive a box of ground pine? If so, how did it look when it reached you. Katy has been quite ill, but is somewhat better.
