In this interview, Muir describes the route taken, the magnificent scenery, and the"unparalleled views." He advises: "If one going to the mountains has the time to spare, he should go to the Kings Canyon, but if he has to choose between the Kings and the Kern, he shonld take the latter. I know of no mountain trip in California that surpasses the one to Kern River and to Mt. Whitney."
