William and Maymie Kimes Annotation
Included in the article "1872-1972 . . . one hundred years later," that appears under the general heading, "In the Yosemite Valley," there is this abridged printing of John Muir's story of the earthquake, no. 308, pp. 77-86. The authors, Gordon B. Oakeshort, Roger W. Greensfelder, and James E. Kahle, make the observation that Muir "has left one of the rare, competent, eye-witness accounts of that earthquake."
