William and Maymie Kimes Annotation

The entire text, as well as the illustrations, is printed from etchings in various colored inks on rectos only of the leaves. The Muir quotation, "I care to live only to entice people to look at nature's loveliness," is printed in burnt-orange ink over a sun rising from a mountainous horizon. An etching of Muir is printed on leaf [7] in brown, recto. This book was first printed in The Etcht Miniature Monthly Magazine, which began publication in 1948. We have been unable to locate a complete run of this periodical.
