William and Maymie Kimes Annotation
Mrs. Harriman requested that John Muir write this small book, which she wished to be a tribute to her late husband. The book was not published for the trade, but as a gift for friends, and a hard back edition for all libraries that requested a copy (see no. 303). Muir relates how he came to know Mr. Harriaman, and how that acquaintance ripened into a lasting friendship. Muir offers affectionate praise and admiration for Mr. Harriman's many talents, giving special recognition for the "extent and warmth of his sympathies."
