William and Maymie Kimes Annotation
Tan cloth with brown lettering on spine and front cover. Price: $.60. "Nothing in after years has dimmed that Alaska storm day. As I write it all comes rushing and roaring to my mind as if I were again in the heart of it .... Our storm-battle for life brought him to light and through him as through a window I have ever since been looking with deepersympathyinto all my fellow mortals." Stickeen is composed of no. 213 edited with a few additions. The book was designed by Bruce Rogers, and handset in "Brimmer" [Bell] type (see Haas: Rogers Bibliography, no. 84). It went into many printings; we have seen a 33rd impression dated July, 1935. Another version of this story is in Travels in Alaska, no. 333, pp. 246{257].
