William and Maymie Kimes Annotation

There were many printings of this edition; we have located copies of the following: 1901, 1902, 1903, 1904 (""tenth impression""), 1905 (""11th impression""), and 1906 (""12th impression""). We have seen three copies with no date on the title page, but the updated footnotes on pages 12 and 27 use the date of 1909. On the copyright page of all copies is: Published November, 1901. BAL shows three printings issued in 1901, and states that there were several later reprints under this date. Muir's record of sales and royalties received from printings of this edition shows that there were 2,011 books sold from November, 1901, to February, 1902; and by February 1911,7,843 books had been sold for a total royalty of$1,885.79 (CStoC). For later editions, see: no. 238; no. 286 (enlarged); no. 341, v. 6; no. 386; no. 423; no. 487.
