Three-quarter brown morocco with brown buckram; title and decoration gilt-stamped on spine and front cover, edges gilt. Illus. as in no. 174. Volumes 2 and 3 are titled: Picturesque California: The Rocky Mountains and the Pacific Slope . .. New York and San Francisco: J. Dewing Publishing Company, n. d. [c. 1888]. At the back of volume 3 are the ""Contents"" and ""List of Plates."" We examined this set in a book shop and later learned of a similar set in another book shop. Muir's contributions are as in no. 167.
