Description

Communication is a necessity among humans. Information that is transformed into a contagious technique for easy reading and recalling is called memes. In this paper, I will investigate the role of memes and the perception of the “Wall” in the Mexican side. They create comic ideas that generate and repeat within cultures and spread on social media to promote social awareness based on a certain topic. Nowadays, memes are important because they encourage people to investigate more about a trending topic and be informed of what is happening around the world. Memes are an informal way to communicate among cultures and share common philosophies. Talking about the wall being built on Mexico’s border, has created a lot of social tension. The “meme” has released some of this tension about the idea of separation and hatred. The meme was created to serve and produce racist beliefs giving the idea of “social software” and sustain that memes form narratives, social networks and a variety of mental structures.
