The Mémoires was the first and most prominent journal published by the Paris Academy (Académie royale des sciences de Paris). The first volume was produced in 1699, and publication continued until the Academy's dissolution by the Jacobin Convention in 1793. In the middle of the 18th century, however, the Paris Academy was the most admired institution of its kind in Europe, and the Mémoires was known by scholars in and beyond Europe. Many contemporary academies patterned themselves after the Paris Academy, and many journals were similarly patterned after the Mémoires. Five of Euler's works were published here, which are listed below.
