Lisa will discuss sense memory acting techniques for writers and connecting with readers through deeply emotional content. Lisa will also discuss pitfalls and successes she experienced marketing as an Indie Author. She will share websites and resources and discuss getting reviews, leveraging reviews, and basics of a marketing plan.

Lisa Slabach’s debut novel is Degrees of Love. She is currently polishing her third full-length manuscript and working on a collection of short stories inspired by her experiences growing up in a small farm community in Washington’s Yakima Valley. In addition to writing, Lisa works for a Fortune 500 Company, leading a sales team in the financial industry. She currently resides in Davis, California with her husband and has two daughters, who are both pursuing careers in film. In her free time, she enjoys drinking wine with friends and cooking in her pink kitchen. Under the working title Broken, the first chapter of Degrees of Love was published in the Blue Moon Art and Literary Review. Broken won the 2012 Merritt Contest for Women’s Fiction and was awarded Second Place in the Fire and Ice Contest for Women’s Fiction. Prior to publication, Degrees of Love was recognized as a Best Book of 2014 by Kirkus Review. Degrees made its full-length publishing debuted December 1, 2017 and was nominated for a 2017 Reviewer’s Choice Award by RT Book Reviews. www.lisaslabach.com
