Introduction/Abstract

Sensor networks provide a way to monitor sensitive environments, where a human presence would either be harmful to the environment or affect the measured data. In order to deploy such a sensor network, however, an autonomous system needs to exist that can place each sensor node. Without such a system, a person would have to place each node, which could have a negative impact on the environment. This system must determine the optimal locations for sensor nodes in order to maximize the coverage of the area in the lowest number of nodes.
