According to the UOP admission office1, there are approximately 300 international students in UOP. Unlike local students, learning English grammar is one of the most challenge things for the international students since they don’t have the natural instinct of English. Unfortunately, there is no resource that can solve this problem for the international student in UOP, because the mentors in writing center are only allowed to help the student with the idea and the structure of the article.
ProofReadForMe is the website that will provide a non-profit study platform to connect the international students who need proofreading service and the native speaker students who want to help. To ensure the security, only UOP student or staff with pacific.edu email is eligible to register an account on this website.
In this website, users can register and log in from the index page. Users can input their name, personal information, picture, type, and needs on their profile page. Others can check the feedbacks and stars from a person’s profile page. There will be two types of user, tutor or tutee. Tutee can find a list of available tutors on the findMentor page, and chat with the select tutor on the conversation page to negotiate a price (It doesn’t have to be real money). After they finished the proofreading service, they will both confirm on the website and give feedback and stars to each other on the feedback page.
During the presentation day, a demo version of this website will be available for demonstration, and a survey will be prepared for the visitors to check if they want to participate.
