Abstract/Artist Statement
“Illusions“ explores twisted love and the blending of reality and fantasy. It tells the story of Adam who discovers a secret room filled with magical books. He begins to see visions of his love interest, Megan, who is dealing with the loss of her best friend. As Adam spends more time in the room, he grows obsessed with Megan and begins to become unstable.
I tell stories through writing and photography, so this film was a creative challenge. I thought it would be interesting to see a story from the perspective of someone who would ultimately become the antagonist. I wanted the audience to analyze the layers woven into this film and judge Adam's actions for themselves.
