An exercise-based work injury prevention program reduces injury rates and costs in urban firefighters

45 full-time urban firefighters received a work injury prevention program administered by a physical therapist. Retrospective analysis of data over a 7-year period showed a consistent linear reduction of workman’s compensation cost, decreased number of work injuries and decreased numbers of lost work hours.
