My own dear little Helen.
I think the letter you sent me with the pretty flowers was the best you ever wrote & it made me glad when I read it & saw the words & the flowers that your sweet little fingers had touched & written. Im glad you like the music box & the [Elfin?] is well & funny & wiggly as ever New York is very big & there are thousands & thousands of little girls here but none so sweet to me as my own darling Helen. Ill not stay away too long for Ill be in a hurry to see you again but I kiss you lots of times everyday just the same as if I were with you Little Willie is here & sends love to you. When I come home Ill bring you & Wanda something from Scotland. Tell Wanda Ill write her a letter tomorrow. Your loving papa John Muir
