Mr John Muir,
Dear sir:
You have probably heard of the revival of the Overland Magazine about to take place. I want very much to talk with you about it, and as I understand you do not come to San Francisco, I will so far intrude on you as to come to Martinez, next Monday, the 23d. I enclose this in a note of introduction from Mr Bartlett. I am told that your house is too distant from the station for me to find my own way thither, but that there are teams going in every day, so that I shall not inconvenience anyone by writing thus that I will be at the

station Monday morning on the train leaving San Francisco at 9:40.
I remain very sincerely yours, Milicent W. Shinn Editor Overland (California)
