Martinez Jan. 10, 1914Dear Mrs Kellogg:Your description of the sea-waves shouting & thundering on the Carmel rocks brought wave-lashed Scotland to mind and made me wish I could have been at Carmel when the storm was in its glory Unfortunately Ive been laid up for weeks with grippish cold. But it is not of storms but Jean I'm writing now. A year ago something was said about a chair for her room to match the rest of the furniture. Has that chair been bought? If not, buy it quick & send bill to me. If not a chair then something else to help keep her little heart singing & dancing & oblige your friendJohn Muir
