Martinez Nov 20. 1912Dear friend, I received your kind heart-note last evening just as I was packing my grip for Berkeley.Mr Parsons has engaged a typewriter for me & I'm going to stop at this house up the hill back of the university until another book is made.I'm now on way to Berkeley & of course will not be able to be with you tomorrow or for along literary while though as you know I'd like tomore than will ever appear.I'm well but a little thin from light eating.
