[letterhead]ADAMANA, ARIZ., Feb. 20 1909Darling Helen: I was sorry to miss seeing you at the station last Monday. I thought of planning to have you go with me on this trip but feared your taking cold on the Pullmans. John Burroughs will leave Chicago next Tuesday In the meantime I'm reviewing our petrified forest work. Tomorrow I'm going to the North forest to camp until Burroughs comes. After he has seen this region we will go to the Grand Canyon. Then home as far as I am concerned.09255 I was getting tired with the Hetch H. work & am getting rested here or at least a needed change. Have been at the Blue & first forests. Everything recalled you & our many long rides. Saw Jim Donahue today & tried to get him to go to the north camp with me to cook & collect etc. He is too busy Has lots of cattle to look after He may visit my camp later. Everybody - the Stevensons Roots Staton agents family & Jim enquired kindly after your health. The Trueaxes & Hanna's have gone to Colorado. Write me here as soon as you get this & later to the Hotel El Toros at Bright Angel Grand Canon. Kind regards to all. Love to thee Darling J.M.
