March 15, 1910—Dear Mrs Hooker & MarianI need not try to tell how much I enjoyed my visit, for you know. I reached my den at 3 o'clock and got a good days work done by 10- a wonderful P.M. performance, due no doubt to the inspiring excursion up Parnassus via Cosmos Canyon. (Greek for Willard St. trending everywhere)Prof. Osborn telegraphs from Pasadena that he will probably reach San Francisco Thursday & start for Yosemite Saturday morning. Still I may be able to reach Los Angeles in time for Mr Hooker's Carneg[illegible] dinner. Anyhow Dr Hale will be there and with him one Scotchman will be enough.Gratefully affectionatelyJohn Muir.
