My dear Mrs Carr
I take pleasure in sending you with this a copy of my first book. You will say that I should have written it long ago, but I begrudged the time of my young mountain-climbing days We received your note & newspaper clippings of the Muir peak. I left Mrs Muir to answer it but suppose she has not.
I am at work on another

book. And in many ways am very busy We are all well Wanda is a woman & considerably taller than her mother. Helen is very smart & may write some day I told a Mr Drake of the Century Magazine to call on you a week ago. He is to be in Pasadena two months.
