Berkeley Sunday morning

Dear Mama

I am now a real Gamma Phi Beta, I was initiated last night and am still alive and in my usual good health. I thought some of going home this morning but as I was up so late last night and all the nights this week I thought I had better rest today especially as I expect this week to be a very busy one too. I suppose you are getting ready to have the folks over to dinner and I wish I could be there too, please tell Jessie good bye for me and how sorry I am not to see her, I didnt

know when I left that she would go before I got back. be sure and explain what a very important affair last nights proceeding were so she will know that I could not come What I did last night will mean a great deal to me all through my college life, more than you know, so in spite of the fact that I am very sleepy and that I have just had two ex's and am effecting three more, I am very happy. Did I get any kind of Sierra Club invitation for this Saturday and Sunday? I got a letter from the irrepressible Miss Hittell asking me if I had accepted-
