Eleanor Gates Tully [Mrs. Richard W. Tully]
I am most grateful to Mr. Johnson for his writing you, for I had hoped not to leave California again without seeing you.

John Mur Esq.,
My dear Mr. Muir,
Mr. Johnson of the Century Magazine writes me to-day, that he has written
you of me and that he wishes me to meet you very much. I shall be most honored to do so, and should like very much to know when I can either see you at
your Martinez home, or in San Francisco should you be coming to town soon, I should like extremely to have you lunch with Mr. Tully and me at the Palace.
