Dr. Muir, -
My precious brother,
A few days ago I received a letter from Jessie - telling of your sickness - She states that you are slowly recovering - I am glad indeed to know this - but so sorry that you have been caused such great suffer-
[suffer-] -ing - . I shall be very anxious to hear again; you have been much in my mind these days - but I am hoping that full recovery will come to you and come soon. I hear that Emma is some improved in health I am glad to know this Heaven bless you both, and may the New Year have much in store for you - that is rich and good.
You and I are some alike as to letter writing - but we love eachother just the same - do'nt we: Love to you my brother - and love to all you family. 'A Happy New Year - to you all.
Lovingly,
sister Mary.
