Belmont Nevada Aug’ 31st 1878 –

Dear General.

I sent you a line from Austin giving you a hint of the good things this hot summer has brought us Yesterday I received a letter from Mrs Kennedy dated June 21st which had been forwarded after long delay. The answer which I have just written I forward to you because I have forgotten a portion of the address & because she says that [deleted: that] she hoped to go west this month. Please forward to her. Our train is on the point of starting & I have but a moment, which I regret the less as Mrs Kennedys letter wh you & Mrs Bidwell may read will answer for all –

Ever Cordially Yrs. John Muir
