Yosemite Calif Oct 30th 1900
Mr. John Muir
My Dear Sir
I have just received your Book The Mountains of California, together with a Refference list of your Published writings and Biographical sketch, for which Favors please accept my grateful thanks Cannot your various interesting articles Published in various Magazines and Newspapers be compiled and Published in Book form, so as to be accessable to the general Public? I think Such a Book would find ready sale and be remunerative to
you both financially and still greater public fame as an interesting writer and a great lover of nature in her primitive beauties, your writings are eagerly sought for by a large majority of the reading Public, and as they now are, in back numbers of Magazines and Papers, they are not to be seen by thousands who would be glad to read them.
With renewed thanks
