I received yesterday, through the mail a photograph of yourself, and I wish to acknowledge it, and to assure you of the pleasure it gave me and that I am [sure?] also of Mr J’s gratification in p[illegible]ing it
We think and speak often of our pleasant intercourse with yourself and Prof [ Ganger?], and we trust to [illegible] it sometime – Please do not forget that the foot hills of the Alleganies offer attractive [illegible] the Naturalist and the lover of the picturesque and also that you now [illegible] [illegible] th[illegible] as well. who would welcome you gladly – to their Home -
