Martinez, California

Oct. 29, 1913.

Mr Timothy Cole:

Dear Sir.

In reply to yours of Oct. 8th I thank you very warmly for your assistance in the work of defending our national parks from invasion by commercial and other despoilers, especially in the case of Hetch Hetchy in the Yosemite. Other circulars will be sent you. A thorough awakening of public opinion is all that is required to defeat the Raker Hetch Hetchly bill. Its passage as I suppose you know has been blocked in the Senate, & will not come up to be voted on until December. Meanwhile we must keep up the fight

Faithfully Yours

John Muir
