On my return with Carol from our late winter & early spring visit abroad I found the copy of your new book "With the Compliments of the Author" & on my return the other day from Groton

I found your charming photograph - a very delightful picture of your dear self. You are so good to hold us in such kind remembrance & we appreciate it more than I can tell you I hear of your continued noble efforts to build the national road about your beloved vallies & I hope
