Dear John

I gladly received your letter telling me of your arrival safely at home, after your trip to the wild woods, about the same time I received a letter and Photo from Mrs Lunam of herself & daughter from Edinburgh where they were spending there vacation, as a family

[illegible] their house during the summer months she wrote that she intended to send you a Photo also as soon as she thought you would be at home [probably?] you have got it by this time
I am much pleased to know that David is getting along so well in his new kind of work but by this time he will be well acquainted with it, his Daughter Anne is now married and I suppose is comfortable

We had a letter from Mary a fortnight ago, her home is in Kearney Neb her family are all well, but Willis has not been very well for some time Nearly all of the children attend school
Several of my old friends have died lately and last week Annie & I went to the Cemetery to visit their last resting places.
