The Board of Trustees of the Mechanics' Institute of this City are endeavoring to arrange a course of lectures on Scientific and literary subjects for the coming winter, and the Committee having the matter in hand have instructed me to write to you and ask you to give us a lecture some time during the season upon any subject you may prefer. If you can comply with our request, I can assure you, your kindness will be gratefully appreciated.
