EDITORIAL OFFICE OF THE ATLANTIC MONTHLY 4 PARK ST. BOSTON
August 31, 1904.
Dear Mr. Muir:-
In sending you the half-yearly accounting of your "National Parks", we are glad to remind you of our interest in the other volumes which you have projected. The record of sales of the "Parks" for the past six months is not large, but it shows no falling off from the previous half-year and indicates a good deal of vitality.
If our memory serves us correctly you have four new books in process--a Colorado Canon book, an Alaska book, "The Yosemite Valley", and your Autobiography. Your recent journey around the world has probably given you material for a fifth, and we are glad to assure you of our very hearty interest in them all. In your letter of June 16 you mentioned your purpose "to get the little Yosemite book off your hands" this summer. We wish you success in carrying out your plan and shall be glad to have the manuscript in hand for publication in the spring.
Yours sincerely,
[Illegible]
John Muir, Esq.
