Mr. John Muir,
Martinez, Cal.
Dear Sir:
We dedicate our University Church on Sunday morning, January 25th. No formal invitations will be issued but President Jordan, who is now in the east, asks me to say that it would give him pleasure if you could be present as his guest. The service will begin at 11 o’clock and the train leaving San Francisco at 9 in the morning reaches Palo Alto in time. Kindly let me know in due time whether we may expect you.
Very truly yours,
[illigible]
