Mary [Muir Hand]
Martinez, May . 22, 1897.
My dear Mary
Here is Your Dunbar cash It all came to me for distribution.
You said last summer that you would pay back what I advanced long ago when this money came This I think will be a good plan not for me to keep - for I dont want it, but simply to give it to you again as you might chance to need it. Anyhow come out & visit us this summer with the Christian Endeavorers. The fares will be low, & you will thus have one trip in your hard self denying life. Let this be the first use you make of your means.
With best wishes, & hoping times will now be easier.
I am ever your
loving brother John
