[Annie] Wanda [Muir]

Boston Sep 20. 10am.

Dear Wanda we are just leaving the Boston Station for N Carolina. At Washington we will pick up Canby & go right on. At New York we have to change cars & wait 2 hours & expect to meet Johnson to whom we have telegraphed I have not felt well for a few days so stopped over yesterday at Sargents [illegible] plan at Brookline. We telegraphed Page & he came out to lunch & stayed 2 hrs. He is a mighty smart fellow.
The horrible food & eternal jolting & Carbonic acid upset my stomach. & its slow about getting steady again. Sargent wants me to stop till Christmas.
New York
[illegible] to find Johnson go [gliding?] through New Jersey getting dark. Baltimore at 9.30 Washington 10.30 & to bed feeling better.

In Virginia beautiful leafy Hills & dales just beginning

to be tinted with autumn.
Fine streams & Mtns in middle of Appalachian Range Shanandoa Valley.
Now at a [plan?] called JOhnsons - 3pm must try to mail this here -

Ever with love

Your father

Canby is with us Merry as ever
