My dear Johnson
I leave San Francisco next Wednesd evening the 7th due in Boston the 16th Set out in a day or two to see trees in the Alleghenies in month or so then hope to see you a few days before [home?] going This is as far as I know or see.
Remember me to [Mrs?] Johnson & the children & [believe?] me ever yours with many thanks for your kind plans in my behalf.
