My dear Mrs Muir -

With the present issue of the College bills I find that I must ask you for the second $250.00 of the five hundred you are so good as to lend to me.
Inclose a note made out for the amount, -

but I have, as you see left the rate of interest blank, as, through an [oversight?] Mrs [Timming?] has not told me of the interest rate on the on the first $250.
In sending the money I shall be obliged if you will deduct the amount of the

interest for one year in the first note as that seems the simplest method of paying it. I have left the date - as to day of the month blank in his note, - which should be dated on the day the money is sent to me.
The College bills [need?] to be paid before Feb. 21st

Massachusetts are just recovering from what has been the greatest "blizzard" Boston has seen for years. I confess to having been just a little disappointed in the performance - but I suppose my ideas of what a real snow storm should be, - are [exotic?].
I hope that this and [then?] Springs shall find you very truly well. I [illegible] in the "Boston Transcript" a few days
