Yosemite Valley Dec 19th 1872Dear brother David I hear that your health is not good, you must take more exercise & expose yourself more to sunlight. I wish you could spend a Summer in the Sierras with me, Camping out & breathing the most exhilarating air, this would revive & tone you to a pitch of wh you have no conception See that Mary has no difficulty connected with her Studies in Madison for want of money & when Anna or Jo need money

let them have it I have not worked much this year but have made sufficient for current ex- penses, & will not call on you for any for at least a year. I am not keeping any acct with you, trusting that you will keep it all straight Dan is so deep in drugs that I seldom hear of him. Remember me to your family & to Mrs Watson & John Blakely & Anna Watson when you see them. I am ever Yours Cordially John Muir 00636
