Town of Buffalo Jan 15, 1861

Dear Sa[illegible] I again write you in that I am about to start for Portage I was at Mary's yesterday she is a great deal better She is to be there to night to stop over night I have sent you incloSed $20- I need not tell you about what is going on here as you will soon be here yourself & then you will See I only say be sure to continue in the faith & be about your fathers business indure hardships like a good solder of Jesus Christ every thing seems like [ding & dross?] compared with that. Suffering will soon be over & glory with all its beauty in [illegible]essed

Seeing this let us play the man as good solders of Jesus the Salvation of our Souls & that of others it is more worth than the perishing things of time we can do nothing but the grace of god is plentifull through Christ we can ever [illegible] plentifully from that fountain & our Heavenly Father will ever hear us for his beloved Sons's Sake our beloved Savour let me know as soon as you get the money your lovin father
