weed roots dangling (&) like gauze(ing) in front, (&) mica scales & washed sand(s) [strewing] the flowers A few delicate strands spun by (the) spiders. stretch across the floor (in front), & from the [steamy] exhalations rising to the Call of the sun (have gathered) minute [irised] dew bead[s] (&) are strung ([thin] on) from end to end. These are now irised (in perfection). Compared to [these] in delicacy & size the ordinary ([graso]) dew drops (of) morning on grass blades & twigs are of all the forms of water (is) heavy as thunderbolts - These irised [heads] are the most delicate & beautiful (water forms) I have ever seen & most charmingly (are nobly) vocal with tenderest love.

9th Gentle bonnie day wh I spent [up] in the Ill [Illilouette] Canon (home of Illilouette.) Sunshine & moonshine somewhat dim as if Material [were] was [being]

11 gathered for a storm. Birds now in valley Jay, woodpeckers 2, Pidgeon’s, bluebird, wren, titmouse, 2 or 3 small sparrowy & [linnety] birds & a few ducks.

11th Rain 3/8th windless & mild all day. Fine weaving of clouds (clouds) going on most abundant about the warm lips of Indian Canon & the warmer [N] side of the Valley in general

12 Balmy day & wellfilled with Sunshine throughout

13th Slight rain forenoon Laurel buds swelling fast also Willows & azaleas & currants
