Forest dense in N sides tall slender v [very] rank growth of flrs in the grass Geranium [ ] [Gentian] bluebell. larkspur lupine Rose v [very] grassy [parks]. Camp at Tower creek handsome full in [curious] mass of [pillars] fall like vernal 130 ft trees in front. Strange setting 2nd day. Over Mt. Washburn Phlox [lark] 10 300 (9,600) Park & [grove] val ridge beautiful groves. 2 [spruce] v fine [Eng] & [Parry]. on side mtn The basin of Tower Creek evenly timbered. 3 Forks in [snow] like [Illillouette]. S side Washburn v grassy & [grovey]
