Martinez, Feb. 24, 1897.My dear Prof Sargent.Your report is the most glorious reading I have enjoyed for many a day & I'm watching eagerly the news from Washington It is presented in capital shape & I can't see how the President can fail to see its importance & seize this last grand chance to bless the world & himself. This should go far to make him happy again after the failure of his favorite Arbitration Treaty. When the right time comes I'll do all I can in the way you indicate. Heaven bless You say I, & all the true say AmenJohn Muir
