[letterhead]Jan. 17 1894Dear Mr. Muir:I send herewith proofs of the Sequoia article and also a couple of the little booklets of sonnets. Of course when I spoke of putting the line in regard to publishing them on the [coon?], I had no thought of referring to you, and if you care to furnish any of them to anyone for reprinting, you are at liberty to do so. Perhaps it would be policy to scatter this crop abroad that it might create a market for future productions. What think you? I presume I should have begun by begging admission for my effusions to the columns
