Mother [Ann Gilrye Muir]
Box [356?] Portage 23d Nov 1882Dear JohnI hope this will find you and your family well – I am much pleased to think that Margt. & Sarah has reached you in your distant home – after having been separated for so many years – Yes – it does seem very long since you left us – but the time may come when you can revisit us again. I suppose your work still goes on – while here everything is covered with snow – Winter seems to be fairly begun now, although we have had a pleasant fall -
