Mr. J. E. Calkins,

2252 W. 30th St.,
Los Angeles, Cal.

My dear Mr. Calkins:-

I have your favor of the 29th ultimo and note fully what you say regarding the Hetch-Hetchy Valley. Upon receipt of Mr. Ficke's letter I expressed myself very strongly to Secretary Garfield and his reply was very encouraging. I shall lay before him the additional facts contained in your letter, and will again emphasize to him that you are actuated by patriotic and disinterested motives.
With kindest personal regards, and thanking you for the pamphlet enclosed, I am,

Very truly yours,
