hand. Nothing more of that scene. I have often heard the family speak of Mr Muir, of his accident & the acquaintance following that. When my sister Katharine Graydon & our cousin Janet Moores were in college nothing had been heard of Mr Muir for several years, when an article appeared in one of our leading magazines – the old Scribner I think – on the water ousel (?) [ouzel] by John Muir. Never have I seen greater excitement on the part of those two girls – to know the author of a magazine
