Abstract
Our vision is to develop a tactical role-playing game that emphasizes strategic depth, player creativity, and accessibility. Inspired by Final Fantasy Tactics (1997, PlayStation One), the project features a 2.5D presentation—using 2D sprites in a 3D environment—with an isometric perspective.
For those unfamiliar with the genre, gameplay revolves around controlling a squad of units on a grid-based map, where players and opponents take alternating turns. On each turn, units typically perform up to two actions: one for movement and one for an attack or technique. Victory is achieved by defeating all opposing units.
Our motivation is to evolve the genre by introducing a core mechanic that allows players to delegate unit actions both during and outside of their turns. This system, combined with intelligent AI and multiple game modes (single-player and multiplayer), aims to deliver a fresh, strategic, and highly replayable experience for players of all skill levels.
