Joanne Ryu is a 2nd year Speech Language Pathology student pursuing her clinical Master's degree. She has a Master's degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences from San Diego State University during which she assisted Dr. Arthur Boothroyd on a research project on word recovery in noise and phoneme omission among monolingual and bilingual listeners. Graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, she was involved in a research study which investigated whether parents were willing to comply with preventative measures for acute otitis media (https://doi.org/10.1044/2015_LSHSS-14-0048) at the Speech and Hearing Sciences Dept with Dr. Jeffrey Danhauer. As a bilingual speaker of Korean and English, she hopes to serve the multicultural and linguistically diverse population.
