Abstract/Artist Statement

We wanted to test the current capabilities of Augmented Reality technology and its application. Augmented reality, or AR, is the use of virtual objects and placing them into the real world for various applications. We are doing this by creating a AR video game for mobile devices called “Aliens!: Augmented Reality Shooter.” As of writing this, we are still developing the application. We are trying to push the limits of the resources we have. In our game, you use the camera of your smart device to move and aim your weapon to fight against monsters. The camera takes what it can see and makes it a virtual space and adds elements like monsters to it. The goal of the game is to take out as many monsters as you can while you are in a virtual version of whatever room you are in.
